The American Academy of Audiology is the world’s largest professional organization of, by, and for audiologists. The active membership of more than 12,000 is dedicated to providing quality hearing care services through professional development, education, research, and increased public awareness of hearing and balance disorders.
AUD-M-ED is a charity focused on providing resources to aid the prevention, detection and management of hearing impairment and deafness in developing countries.
The Trustees intend to raise funds to support projects and send trainers, equipment, training materials and scientific literature to developing countries.
The aims of AUDMED are to:
- Raise awareness of the causes of hearing impairment
- Train people to detect, diagnose and manage hearing problems in childhood and adult life
- Provide specialised equipment
- Enable professionals to attend updating courses and conferences

The British Society of Audiology was founded in 1966 and is now by far the largest audiology society in Europe. Its main aim is to increase knowledge of hearing and balance and to enhance audiological practice by dissemination and education through its multi-disciplinary approach, with members from all areas of audiology.
The Hearing Conservation Council is a charity founded with the aim of promoting and supporting activities for the prevention of deafness and the mitigation of avoidable causes of hearing impairment and conservation of hearing worldwide, particularly in low and middle income countries.
The goal of Hearing International is to promote ear health and provide better hearing for people in developing countries.
Hearing International is a non-governmental charity, established in 1992, as an umbrella organization, linked with the International Federation of Otorhinolaryngological Societies (IFOS) and the International Society of Audiology (ISA).
Hearing International connects hearing professionals and manufacturers to provide technical and medical knowledge to consumer groups and NGOs to implement hearing programs.
The International Society of Audiology has its official seat in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Society has recently gone through a restructuring procedure to open up membership for all people working in Audiology, either in health care or research, and to connect with all societies working in the field.

Phoniatrics is the medical specialty of voice, speech, language, hearing and swallowing disorders. The Union of the European Phoniatricians (UEP) is a platform for exchange of expert knowledge, clinical experience and scientific work in this area. UEP promotes the cooperation of phoniatricians in Europe, its neighbouring countries and those countries who have put the European model of Phoniatrics into practice.
World Wide Hearing is currently focused on providing access to affordable hearing aids to children and youth in developing countries. We also have a multifaceted, long-term strategy to address hearing loss in the coming decades.
